Mi India News: After the launching of entry-level budget device Redmi 8A, now the company announced Xiaomi Redmi 8 that is already launched in Ukraine earlier this week. That is the successor of Redmi 7 which was launched in April this year. Similar to the Redmi 7 the new Redmi 8 comes with a waterdrop style notch and dual rear camera setup. The new Redmi 8 features a new “Aura Mirror Design” on the back. There is 3 color option-Sapphire Blue, Ruby Red & Onyx Black. Xiaomi said the Emerald Green color option is there that will be available on a later date.

The new Xiaomi Redmi 8 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 SoC and comes in two storage variants 3GB RAM + 32GB storage and 4GB RAM + 64GB storage which is expandable up to 512GB via microSD card slot. The device has a 6.22-inch HD+ display with a 320ppi density. The device comes with P2i coating which makes it splash-proof. Software-wise it runs on the latest Android 9.0 Pie with Xiaomi’s own custom MIUI 10.
In terms of camera, the Redmi 8 features a dual rear camera set up on the back. The primary camera is12MP Sony IMX363 sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and the secondary is a 2-megapixel depth sensor. There is an 8-megapixel front camera with the face unlock feature. Both the camera supports AI features. The Redmi 8 also features a 5000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support. There is also a 10W charger in the box.
Connectivity option includes 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, GPS, Wireless FM radio, 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB-C port. The Redmi 8 3GB RAM + 32GB storage variant price in India is 7.999 and 4GB RAM + 64GB storage model price is INR 8.999. It is available on Flipkart, Mi.com & Mi-Home store in the country.
